You can:

  • Make your claim online
  • Call our 24/7 claims line on 133 723
  • Contact your broker to help you.

To lodge your claim, you’ll need:

  • Your QBE policy number
  • Details of what happened
  • Details of other people involved, such as names and contact details of third parties and witnesses.

A dedicated claims officer will manage your claim. We may be able to make a decision on your claim if we have all the details, or we’ll let you know if we need to know more.

If your caravan is safe to drive or tow, you’ll need to get a quote from your repairer. Then we’ll help you through the repairs process. We’ll also assign an assessor to inspect the damage and help settle your claim.

We’ll tell you if there are any excesses to pay. You can also talk to us if you’re in financial hardship.

We may write off your caravan if it’s stolen or, it costs more to repair than its value. Then we’ll pay out your claim after we deduct any excesses, registration fees and premiums that apply.

If we authorise your caravan’s repair, you can arrange when to drop it off with your repairer. All repairs we authorise have a guarantee on their quality and workmanship, for as long as you own your caravan.

If we cannot authorise your Repairer we will pay you a fair and reasonable amount (minus any excesses) for you to arrange your own repairs to be completed. QBE will not guarantee the quality and workmanship of these repairs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Make sure the caravan is safe and secure and notify the police. Then call us 24 hours a day on 133 723.

After you've lodged your claim, including the details of other involved parties, we'll take care of any issues should they get in touch. Simply refer any calls or correspondence to us.

You may need to prove to us you've suffered a loss covered by your policy. This may include:

  • Police reports
  • Proof of loss or damage
  • Proof of ownership
  • Receipts or tax invoices
  • Photos or video of the item/s

An excess is the amount you agree to pay towards a claim. More than one excess may apply in some circumstances.

If we decide an accident wasn’t your fault, you may not need to pay an excess. If you need to pay an excess, you may need to pay it to your repairer after they fix your caravan. If your caravan isn’t damaged, you may still need to pay an excess to QBE for repairs to other vehicles or property.

Check the Product Disclosure Statement for your policy, to see what excesses may apply. If you’re having financial difficulties and struggling to pay your excess, talk to your claims officer or call us on 133 723.

We may allocate an assessor (or insurance loss assessor) to assess your caravan. They’ll assess the cost of parts and labour to repair or replace the damage on your caravan.

Your assessor will provide an expert opinion on your caravan’s damage or loss, under the guidance of our claims officer. They’ll:

  • Review the circumstances of your claim
  • Assess the damage or loss
  • Help you get a repair or replacement quote
  • Help our claims officer settle your claim.

They’ll make sure the repairer quotes you a suitable repair method to fix it. They’ll also check how practical, safe and economical it is to repair it, compared to paying you the market or agreed value of your caravan before the accident.

Your repairer is your main contact while they fix your caravan. Once QBE has authorised your caravan’s repair, the repair time will depend on the extent of the damage to your caravan and parts available.
