Everyday spending, extraordinary goodness
Premiums4Good™ is a smart new initiative from QBE. It invests a portion of everyday insurance spending typically in areas creating positive environmental or social change. It's a simple way to benefit those who need it most, at no additional cost to you.
How does Premiums4Good work?
When a customer pays us their insurance premium, we invest that money until we need it to pay claims.
Premiums4Good is an initiative that enables us to direct a portion of those premiums into investments with an additional social objective. These investments can include social impact bonds, green bonds and other social investments.
Are you already contributing to Premiums4Good?
By simply choosing QBE as your insurance provider, your organisation is already helping create positive change. Every insurance premium across QBE Australia and New Zealand is contributing to QBE’s global Premiums4Good investment pool. In 2018 QBE Australia and New Zealand is committed to contributing a minimum of A$100 million on behalf of all QBE customers.
You won’t pay any more for your policy and you’ll still have the same level of cover. The big difference is you are helping to create positive change in communities here and around the world.
Our policy is greater than A$100,000 and we want to contribute more to Premiums4Good?
We're delighted to be able to offer our customers that pay over A$100,000 (excluding government charges) to QBE the opportunity to contribute 25% of their net premium to Premiums4Good.
Please note at this stage this offer excludes Workers Compensation, Builder Warranty and Trade Credit policies.
To do so, simply fill out the registration form on this page and we'll get in contact with you. Or alternatively speak to your QBE agent or broker to find out more.
Can I promote the fact we signed up to Premiums4Good?
Absolutely! Premiums4Good is an ideal program to supplement your existing organisation’s corporate and social responsibility programs. It can help enhance corporate reputation and your brand to attract and retain socially conscious customers and employees.
QBE can provide certified documentation that your organisation has contributed 25% of their net premium to Premiums4Good.
Please feel free to share your participation in Premiums4Good with your customers, partners and employees.
What are the investments?
Together, we'll benefit a diverse range of projects, including social impact and green bonds, developing renewable energy resources, and providing water and energy to remote communities.
Social Impact Investments represent a growing investment opportunity that provides funding for initiatives with observable social benefits. For example, in social impact bonds, these may include:
- reducing homelessness
- improving family resilience for children at risk of being removed into foster care
- improving school performance of children or youth from ‘at risk’ households.
Green Bonds mean an investment into projects with environmental benefits such as renewable energy, waste management and water conservation.
An example of one of our local Australian investments is the Aspire Social Impact Bond, which funds the Aspire Pprogram. The Aspire Program is conducted by Hutt Street Centre, an Adelaide-based homelessness services specialist. The Hutt Street Centre partners with community housing providers including Common Ground Adelaide and Unity Housing, to provide a Housing First program for up to 600 people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
