QBE extends sponsorship to Sydney Swans Academy

QBE announced today that it would extend its existing sponsorship with the Sydney Swans to be named the principal partner of the Sydney Swans Academy, an initiative designed to identify talent from as young as nine years old and shape them into future Swans players.
Frank O’Halloran, Group Chief Executive Officer, says QBE welcomes this extension to its existing relationship with the Sydney Swans.
“We are delighted to be assisting the Swans with developing and nurturing of talent for the future – we believe this is a strong foundation for ongoing success and epitomises QBE’s own philosophies on culture and talent management,” says Mr O’Halloran.
The Academy will have the most experienced and well respected coaching talent available for support and development, including Paul Roos as Head Coach, Dennis Carroll as General Manager and Chris Smith as Elite Talent Identification Manager.
Mr O’Halloran says: “To retain Paul recognises his dedication and commitment to the Sydney Swans and we look forward to continuing to work with him in the future.”
The Sydney Swans Academy will be a world class facility that aims to deliver an ongoing supply of players to the Swans. When the Academy is fully operational in 2011, more than 300 boys aged from nine to eighteen will be involved in an elite development program lasting up to 40 weeks per year.
QBE has been a proud supporter of the Sydney Swans for 24 years, establishing one of the longest running sports sponsorships in the country to date.
