QBE announced eGroup's recommended insurer
19 July 2010
QBE Insurance announced it will be the recommended insurer for eGroup customers, following eGroup's exit from the Australian market.
Tony MacRae, Executive General Manager at QBE, says, "We are excited about the opportunity to further expand our motor portfolio in Australia and we obviously look forward to assisting the customers of eGroup through this transition to QBE."
Mr MacRae also confirmed that a dedicated team has been established to ensure a smooth process for those customers who choose to transfer their car and motorcycle policies to QBE.
John Gannon, Commercial Director at eGroup, says, "QBE was a natural fit for our motor business - it was important our customers were offered the choice to be protected with one of Australia's most trusted and respected insurers."
Each customer will be contacted prior to the expiry of their current policies from 1 August 2010. Customers can also speak with an insurance specialist by calling:
They can also get in contact by emailing egroup@qbe.com.
eGroup entered the Australian market in 2007 with the launch of eBike insurance and eCar insurance. This year the UK-based insurer announced a strategic move to withdraw from the Australian market and focus on its rapidly expanding core business in the UK.
