QBE announces joint Principal Sponsorship of NSW Swifts
25 February 2008 (Sydney, NSW, Australia) – QBE Australia is proud to be a joint Principal Sponsor of the NSW Swifts netball team, in conjunction with the Sydney Swans.
The sponsorship was officially announced today at a press conference featuring the NSW Swifts team in their new uniforms and an appearance by Sydney Swans Coach, Paul Roos.
Terry Ibbotson, QBE Australia Chief Executive Officer, said: “QBE is proud to join with the Sydney Swans in supporting the NSW Swifts for season 2008. The Swifts will represent NSW in an important trans-Tasman competition. Through our association with the Swans we are excited to extend our sponsorship into one of the most played sports in Australia.
“The partnership between QBE and the Sydney Swans is one of the most prolific in Australian sport - we now look forward to our developing involvement with the NSW Swifts and their supporters”
Although AFL clubs and netball have undertaken joint activities for several years, QBE is delighted to be the first major partner to invest in a ‘sister’ sport along with a club.
