Compusure will remain an independent underwriting agency providing travel insurance products, including the Toursafe leisure range and Corporate Travel Insurance.
In addition to underwriting the policies, the arrangement will give Compusure policyholders access to QBE’s OMEGA emergency assistance service in the event of a claim.
Bill Giffin, Executive Director of Compusure said a detailed review was undertaken of underwriting and emergency assistance capabilities in the market and there were numerous benefits for travel agents and their clients with QBE.
“There will be no change to our products or service and this strategic alliance will benefit our agents,” he said.
“It will be a case of business as usual. Transition dates and implementation phases are being finalised, and we will take this opportunity to launch exciting new products to complement the existing range of Toursafe products which will be largely unchanged.”
Peter Andrew, QBE Divisional Manager Travel Insurance said that there was a great match between Compusure and QBE.
“Compusure has a mature, experienced sales team with strong selling techniques and an excellent reputation for quality customer service. Toursafe is a popular and well respected brand and we are looking forward to underwriting the Toursafe product suite,” Mr Andrew said.
