Press Releases

Revised pricing and policy wording for QBE’s Commercial Motor and Fleet & Heavy Haulage products

Sydney, Australia - 16 October 2006

Using feedback from intermediaries, QBE has enhanced its Commercial Motor and Fleet & Heavy Haulage products. Available now, these enhancements include revised pricing structures and new policy wordings.

Commercial Motor

Available nationally on Sunrise and c.ch@nge, QBE’s Commercial Motor product is capable of processing up to 10 vehicles, with a combination of privately registered and business use vehicles. The wording now provides an increased legal liability limit of $30 million and an increased hazardous goods limit of $1 million.

Some of the extensions of cover which are now available include:

“We have refined premiums for specific classes of vehicles including earth moving equipment such as bobcats and excavators, and Goods Carrying Vehicles with a carrying capacity up to 12,000 kilograms / 8 tonnes,” Bruce Rickard, National Commercial Motor Product Manager, said.

The product is specifically designed to meet the needs of people who are self employed and small to medium sized businesses – including electricians, real estate agents, landscape suppliers, traders, local delivery carriers and small financial services groups. Supported by a timely local claims service, QBE’s Commercial Motor product also offers an instalment billing option.

Fleet & Heavy Haulage

QBE’s Fleet & Heavy Haulage policies have been combined to provide more comprehensive cover.

Amendments made to the policy wording include:

“In addition to providing a timely local claims service, QBE’s Fleet & Heavy Haulage product is supported by comprehensive risk management tools, which allow you to minimise your clients’ risks and in return provide competitive premiums for your customers,” said Mr Rickard.

Furthermore, a new online claims management report will soon be available, as an extension of the tools currently available on c.ch@nge.

The report will provide a snapshot of a given policy’s claims history and can be viewed at any time during the policy period.
