QBE response to Icelandic volcano (updated)

On April 15 2010 an ash cloud from the Eyjafjallajoukull Volcano in Iceland caused the closure of numerous European airports. Several airlines have now conducted test flights at altitudes that avoid the cloud and prevailing winds have moved the cloud. This has enabled the reopening of several airports over the weekend.

The following advice relates to policies issued prior to 4.30pm AEST, 15 April 2010. There is no provision to claim amendment/cancellation fees due to the Icelandic Volcano for policies issued after 4.30pm AEST, 15 April 2010.

Policyholders currently overseas that have directly been affected are advised to contact QBE Emergency Assistance on +61 3 8805 2800 or email omega@qbe.com
