QBE response to Civil Unrest in Thailand

Issued 16 March 2010. Updated 30 April 2010 and 21 May 2010.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) continues to advise travellers to reconsider their need to travel, if travelling to Thailand. The level of warning for Thailand overall has not altered, however the Department has issued its highest level of advice, ‘Do not travel’, for Bangkok. DFAT advice has been revised and reissued for travellers, with additional information provided under Civil Unrest/Political Tension (extreme risk of violence in Bangkok).

QBE will continue to monitor the situation in Thailand and keep travellers informed about their travel insurance provisions. In the interim, please visit www.smartraveller.gov.au for the latest travel advice and warnings.

Policyholders currently overseas that have directly been affected are advised to contact QBE Emergency Assistance on +61 3 8805 2800 or email omega@qbe.com
