Colin Fagen, Chief Executive Officer - Australian Operations

MBA, BCom
Colin has been involved in the insurance industry for over 20 years. His extensive career has covered operational, marketing, relationship management and senior executive roles across all classes of general insurance. During his time at QBE, Mr Fagen has served in a number of senior executive roles in Australian Operations. He most recently held the position of Executive General Manager - Intermediary Distribution, where he provided strategic leadership and operational management to the various business units that provided services to all Australian intermediaries. Today, these intermediaries include the four international brokers, major broker cluster groups and several hundred mid-size brokers and authorised representatives.

Jason Brown, Chief Risk Officer

Jason is a Chartered Accountant who has been involved in the financial services industry for over 20 years, including in consulting, audit and senior executive roles. He joined QBE Australia in 2002 and has previously held the roles of General Manager, Finance and Technical; and Executive General Manager, Technical & Operations. In his current role, Jason is responsible for overseeing the risk, actuarial and reinsurance functions, as well as strategy, business analytics, legal, internal audit, fraud, governance, business continuity, customer relations and compliance.

Michael Emmett, Chief Information Officer - Australia and Asia Pacific

Mike joined QBE as CIO during 2011, having spent the past 20 years working with insurers and other financial services organisations across Australia, the UK and South Africa to improve their IT and business operations. Prior to joining QBE, Mike was a partner at Ernst and Young where he led the Financial Services Advisory practice.
As CIO, Mike is responsible for all aspects of IT across Australia and Asia Pacific as well as the delivery of Group IT projects. He is also the Chair of Group Operations and IT for QBE.

Ian Graham, Chief Executive Officer - QBE Lenders' Mortgage Insurance

Ian is Chief Executive Officer and a Director of QBE Lenders’ Mortgage Insurance Limited, and Chairman of QBE Mortgage Insurance (Asia) Limited based in Hong Kong. He is also the Chairman of the ICA Lenders' Mortgage Insurers Standing Committee, an industry body whose membership is comprised of representatives of lenders’ mortgage insurance companies in Australia which together write in excess of 80 per cent of all lenders' mortgage insurance business. Ian has substantial experience in the financial services and lenders' mortgage insurance market in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer, he served in a number of roles, including as a Company Secretary, Manager of Finance and Administration, and Regional Branch Manager. Ian is a Certified Practicing Accountant, Chartered Secretary, and a member of both the Australian Computer Society and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Jason Hammond, General Manager, Workers Compensation

Jason Hammond has 18 years experience in Workers Compensation, the last seven with QBE. Jason previously held senior roles in both Victoria and NSW, dealing extensively with regulators, brokers, clients and other key stakeholders.
As General Manager, Workers Compensation, Jason leads a unit which provides insurance cover and services in all states and territories except South Australia, where we provide a consulting and advocacy service; and Queensland, where a state government system is in place. QBE is the largest Workers Compensation insurer in Australia, with approximately 1200 Workers Compensation people with strong local knowledge in over 20 branches.  Jason has a keen interest in continually pushing the boundaries of Workers Compensation business units to achieve greater results in customer satisfaction, operational performance and staff engagement.

George Katsogiannis, Executive General Manager - Claims

George has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry, with the past 23 years spent at QBE, across a diverse range of roles, predominantly focusing on Workers Compensation and CTP insurance, including all aspects of sales, underwriting and claims.  In 2011 he was appointed Executive General Manager Claims responsible for the strategic direction of claims with an emphasis on implementing a consistent claims operating model across the country.  In addition he oversees all catastrophic events, audit and technical components related to claims.

Tony MacRae, Executive General Manager - Intermediary Distribution

Tony has over 30 years' experience in general insurance. He joined QBE in 2006, and previously held the position of Executive General Manager Corporate Partners & Direct. As head of Intermediary Distribution, Tony is responsible for a unit that controls in excess of $2.2 billion premium income and $1.3 billion in managed funds, with over 2,500 staff. This includes International Brokers, Australian Intermediaries, Workers Compensation, CTP and Motor Trades business units. Prior to working at QBE, Tony held senior roles at IAG and CGU.

Tim Plant, Executive General Manager Corporate Partners and Speciality

Tim has more than 20 years experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector, both in Australia and internationally. He has served in a number of senior executive and board roles, most recently in the role of Managing Director, Elders Insurance since its acquisition by QBE in 2009. Tim is now responsible for Corporate Partners and Specialty, a business unit which controls in excess of $1.6 billion of GWP and includes Underwriting Agencies, Elders Insurance, Direct Distribution and Aviation.

Shaun has been with QBE for nearly 10 years, and has held previous senior roles in workers compensation, sales, claims and operations.
As General Manager, Australian Intermediaries, Shaun leads a unit dedicated to the specific needs of our trusted intermediary partners and their respective clients. These include general insurance brokers and authorised representatives who provide insurance solutions to a selection of clients ranging from individuals, families and small to medium businesses to large Australian and multinational organisations. Australian Intermediaries offers award winning levels of service, competitive products and dedicated professional staff who are able to work with our intermediary partners and their clients to offer precisely the right solution to match their needs.

Victor's team upholds QBE Australia’s Finance vision to be the first choice for our customers and investors, balancing financial integrity and supporting the future growth of the business and its people. Victor oversees the company’s financial governance, tax advisory services, financial operations, decision support, quality assurance, operational risk, transactional accounting, reporting and analytics.



Richard Wulff, Group General Manager - Credit & Surety

DRS
Richard was appointed Group General Manager of QBE’s Credit, Surety and Political Risk in October 2009. He is now responsible for our Trade Credit and Surety portfolios across the globe, and for Austral. Prior to commencing at QBE, Richard did a brief stint in India as Chief Underwriting Officer, writing all major non-life lines of business. Richard received his business degree in his native country of Holland. After spending a decade with NCM in Amsterdam and Dublin in direct underwriting and reinsurance, Richard moved onto Munich Re. In his role, he led various groups in the credit, surety and political risk reinsurance area.
